Lightström

Lightström is a flowing tornado, a glowing dervish that can be moulded by hand, touching light itself.

In collaboration with tech artist, Debanshu Bhowmick, Lightström uses touch sensitive fabric to light up at points of contact.

It was first debuted at the Kiran Nadar Museum.

A Strom in German speaks of electricity, a current or a flow like a river. In Czech, it speaks of that which is towering above, a sight to behold. In this context, when we call this the LightStrom, we mean a phenomenon, almost like the weather, a whirl of lightning caught together, and a flowing form of light.
