Pound Of Flesh

The nature of our relationship with skin is insinuated when a perfectly innocuous orange becomes almost vulgar, covered with skin. Different skin tones command different values, yet we all fall from the same tree.

The grotesque as well as the commonplace contemplates how sometimes the collective can affect the individual, this piece was originally debuted in 2016  at the solo shot “Collective Nouns” at Sakshi Gallery. The fruit themselves were made out of different  shades of chocolate and individuals were invited to eat the fruit, finding fortune inside the fruit themselves.
